Google is reported to shut down the engineering office in Russia
A number of media reports indicate that Google is weighting a decision of closing down its engineering office in Russia.
The move seems to come as a result of changes to Russian data protection law that now require the data of Russian citizens to be stored and managed in the country.
Earlier this year a similar decision was taken by Adobe Systems. Recently EU diplomats issued a warning that as a result of the new legislative requirements it might become impossible for EU member states embassies and visa centers to issue Schengen visa’s to Russia citizens.
